DaddyO Grumblebun was Best Foreign Kitten at his very first show - the SABCCI show in Dublin! He squeezed his brother, DaddyO Jumblebug into second place in the kitten class. Many thanks to both their owners for presenting them so well.

Belzebub Orchis and Rexivel Rosa Klebb became the first Sphynx ever to win CCs in all of Ireland! This was a wonderful landmark for us and the breed. Their daughter, DaddyO Roly Poly, came a very close second to her mother, Rosa, in their class.

HCM Scans 1st March 2011
Bubus, Rosa and Flump all scanned clear for HCM, with nice normal hearts. Here is a picture of Rosa during her heart scan.

Ulster Siamese and All Breeds Cat Club Show 6th November 2010
Rosa won her second GCCF Intermediate Certificate at this show in Bangor. Bubus achieved his third GCCF Intermediate Certificate making him the first Sphynx to earn the required three certs under both the GCCF and GCCFI.

SABCCI Cat Show 17th October 2010
Rosa and Bubus both won a GCCFI Intermediate Certificate at this show in Dublin. This was Rosa's second and Bubus's third certificate, making Bubus the first Irish Sphynx Intermediate Champion! DaddyO Stottiecake was also entered into this show and won her kitten Open class, Best of Breed and came first in her side class!
Erin Cat Club Show 4th September 2010
We entered the three daughters of Rosa and Bubus at this show - the first time we have exhibited anything of our own breeding. The three girls were against each other in the same class and got very nice critiques from their judge Mrs Denny. DaddyO Stottiecake was first, DaddyO Stickytortiepuddin second and DaddyO Roly Poly third which is exactly how I would have placed them.

We have a new litter of kittens! Flump and Bubus have made 3 red and white boys and a tortie and white girl. All are doing well so far, pictures will be added very soon.

USABCC show 7th November 2009.
Rosa and Bubus each won a GCCF Intermediate Certificate at the Ulster Siamese and All Breeds Cat Club Show in Bangor. Bubus was competing against a very laid back red and white boy who we were particularly delighted to meet as he is the brother of Flump, our red and white girl!

SABCCI Show. 20th September 2009.
Rosa made her show debut at the SABCCI show in Dublin, winning a GCCFI I.C. Bubus was also at this show and won an I.C. too. These were the very first IRISH Intermediate Certificates awarded to Sphynx.
BOV at Erin Show! 5th September 2009.
Bubus made his show debut at the GCCF Erin Cat Club Show in Lisburn. He was awarded an I.C. and title of Best Foreign Cat in Show, the first time a Sphynx has been Best Of Variety in Ireland!

Kitten Availability. March 22nd 2009
Well, we have more than had our hands full looking after the kittens so far. They all have lovely homes lined up now. I will be putting together a page of pictures and video clips from this litter as soon as I can bear to stop playing with them so keep an eye out!

Entry Time For The Midland Cat Club Cat Show - enter until 23rd of January.
The MCC show in Limerick on the 22nd of February is always one of the most enjoyable shows of the year.
Featured on RTE's Nationwide in 2007, it is a very friendly show in a great location. If you fancy trying cat showing,
it is a wonderful show to start with. All cats must have entry forms sent in advance to Carmel, the show manager.

Supreme Cat Show. November 22nd
We went over to the GCCF Supreme Cat Show in Birmingham NEC. There was only a handful of Sphynx at the show but they were beautiful, friendly cats. We loved seeing the Devon Rex and Cornish Rex too. I had been dying to see Grand Champion Micajas Catweazle in the flesh and he more than lived up to my expectations. It was a pleasure to see Supreme UK and Imperial Grand Champion Grizabella Oblahdi Ohblada again -not only is she a magnificent example of a Devon, she is the grandmother of our Grizabella Xerxes, so we are slightly biased! We got to briefly meet some of the people whose websites and cats we admire, which was great. You can find out more about this most prestigious of cat shows on the official website - Supreme Cat Show

Blood Tests. November 4th
Flump was tested for FIV and FeLV today and, as expected, she tested negative for both diseases.
Flump Inspects the DIY. November 2nd
We were sanding down a piece of furniture today and in typical Sphynx fashion Flump was keeping a very close eye on what we were doing. The Photo Gallery has some snaps of her inspection!

SABCCI Show News
Johnny and Flump were both awarded merits at the SABCCI cat show. This is Johnny's first Irish merit and Flump's third! They made a lot of friends among the visitors too.

Erin Cat Show 6th September 2008
Johnny attended his first cat show and once he got used to his new surroundings, he took it all in his stride. The show was a GCCF one in Northern Ireland. Johnny was awarded a merit and got a lovely critique from his judge who described him as 'a pleasure to judge'. We were so delighted that his wonderful personality was apparent and overall, his report was far better than I had dared to hope for!
Cat Genetics Tests
Samples sent to the Veterinary Genetics Laboratory at the University of California have confirmed the blood types and colours of both our Sphynx. Flump is, as suspected, simply a red and white Sphynx rather than the red tabby and white she was originally registered as. We will change her registered colour with the GCCFI and GCCF to reflect this. Neither cat carries dilute colours which gives us a clear idea of what to expect from any future litters between them.
